With over ten years of experience, Jesse B is an interdisciplinary artist who began his career writing for some of the biggest music platforms such as The Fader, Complex, Noisey, Bandcamp, Red Bull, Highsnobiety, The Guardian and many more.
His writing has appeared in print and online in GQ, The FADER, The Guardian, OkayPlayer, Red Bull, NME, Mixmag, Dazed, Crack Magazine, Esquire to name a few, profiling high profile names in music and culture such as Little Simz, Burna Boy, Daniel Kaluuya, Nipsey Hussle, D Double E and more. He was previously a contributing editor for TRENCH Magazine between 2017-2021 and guest editor for PRS Magazine in 2021.
He was also the founder and creative director of CMV having launched the platform in 2022 following the COMO VOCÊ (WePresent) documentary he directed. In 2020, Jesse presented BBC R4’s documentary on the Gospel of Grime. He was also a tour DJ for Lord Apex and has appeared on NTS, Worldwide FM, Rinse FM, Voices Radio, Reprezent Radio, Refuge Worldwide, Veneno Radio. All his work across multiple disciplines and art forms branches from a deep mission to explore how sound and people move between cultures. In 2020, he was awarded a research grant by The K Blundell Trust and Society of Authors.
He’s currently writing his first book Escaping Babylon (2026) delving deep into the past thirty years of Black British underground music.
